He has always been loved for his off-beat choices of movies. Movies which talk about a particular social stigma and other renowned actors are too afraid to choose, because they might get stereotyped.
Acting in such movies made him famous and respected as people from every part of society can relate to his movies. Now he has surprised us by stepping out of his ‘usual genre’ of movies and has done an action thriller which was totally unexpected. Let’s find out what the catch behind the story is and did the audience love him in his angry and active role.
Ayushmann’s An Action Hero is a story of an actor who was accused of murder and this incident turns his own life into a movie-like situation. Ayushmann has played the role of Maanav who is the face of action in superhit movies. Maanav was travelling to Haryana for his upcoming movie where he crosses paths with an aspiring politician Vicky, who wanted to meet Maanav for publicity. Maanav being on a tight schedule does not pay attention to Vicky. When they were to finally meet, Maanav received the delivery of his Ford Mustang leaving Vicky behind for a long drive. Vicky feels disrespected and decides to confront him. Vicky and Maanav get into a little scuffle and Maanav ends up pushing Vicky to get his hand off of him. Vicky falls and hits a rock and dies on the spot. Maanav gets scared and flies to his house in the UK in order to avoid arrest or worse. But he is unaware of the fact that Vicky’s brother Bhoora has arrived in the UK to hunt him down and take revenge. Maanav’s Mustang’s mirror is found at the crime spot and in no time the case becomes public. He ended up losing his respect and was boycotted by his fans. Maanav goes into hiding but Bhoora reaches his house and tries to kill him. He tries to prove his innocence but nothing seems to work on Bhoora due to his anger and rage. The movie unfolds with a lot of action, drama, investigation and political drama.
Anirudh Iyer did a great job in refining Ayushmann as an action hero for the film and fans have definitely loved the raging side of our soft and easygoing actor. No doubt the movie was showered with love and received a great response from critics as well. An action Hero was released in theatres on 2nd December 2022 but recently Netflix has bought the copyrights. You can now enjoy the movie in the comfort of your home if you haven’t already watched it. Ayushmann left us speechless, once again, with his great acting skills. He seemed so flawless in the movie and was hard to believe that it was his first action drama.
